Description 
The Peace Institute is a center of healing, teaching and learning for families and communities impacted by murder, trauma, grief and loss. Our commitment is to transform society’s response to homicide. The heart of our work is with families impacted by murder on both sides. Our impact extends to community and society through tools, services, advocacy, training and technical assistance.

The Peace Institute is recognized across the state and country for the best practices in the field of homicide response. With over 25 years of experience, the Peace Institute continues to innovate and grow. 

At this critical and exciting juncture, we seek a part time consultant Grant Writer to build on a strong fundraising foundation.

Key Responsibilities
Working closely and collaboratively with the  President/CEO, Co-Directors and Development Manager the Grant Writer is responsible for:
  • Grant tracking and organization for current grants including report timelines, re-applications and report templates etc.
  • New grant research and follow up on previously researched leads. 
  • Applying for grants. 
  • Works extremely closely with Co-Directors, Development Manager on outlines/main thoughts/direction of grant
  • Drafts and edits grants. Co-Directors and Development Manager to have final review of grants. 
  • Supervised by the Development Manager

Qualifications & Mindset
The ideal candidate will bring:
  • Culturally aware and responsive approach  to the work of the LDBPI and BIPOC communities. 
  • Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks and complete work on schedule and within agreed upon hours.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, organization and research skills
  • Experience in grant research and writing successful grant applications

This is a part time consultant role.  Estimated to be 60 hours per month. This role is primarily remote.  Rates and billing can be negotiated.
